Excerpt #1
“My God. If you get any sweeter, I’m going to have to have you for dessert!” I say, widening my eyes crazily and suddenly begin growling and fake-biting at her neck playfully.
She wiggles and laughs out loud as I tighten my hold on her not letting her escape my playful attack. This is so much fun! We struggle and play until she loses her footing and I collapse on top of her on the couch. Her twinkling eyes tell me she’s quite comfortable…and happy to be beneath me.
I can’t fight it. I have to kiss her. I stare into her eyes intently and lightly brush the strands of hair off her forehead, then stroke her cheek with the back of my hand. I bring my lips so close to hers and pause. I have to. Otherwise, there will be no dinner. Finally, when I feel I can have an element of control, I gently brush my lips against hers. The intensity that passes through this tender kiss is overwhelming. My mind goes dizzy as she wraps her arms around my neck drawing me in closer. When she feels my arousal through my pants pressed against her thigh I can tell she is pleased by the moan I feel humming through her lips, lighting a fire deep in my soul. She moves slightly, and I can tell she wants to feel it. I re-position myself with a slight grind, causing her to pull her head back breathlessly while I caress her exposed neck. Suddenly ripped from our heady affections, the annoying knock at the door causes me to drop my head defeated into the crook of her neck with a frustrated groan. She giggles and laughing with her is all I am able to do.
As I climb off of her to stand I catch her eyes widening in amazement as she checks out my package. Thank goodness these pajama pants have a button closure on the fly, or she may have seem more than she bargained for. She sees my reaction to her stare and begins to blush, so I give her a silly hip wiggle just to make her laugh. She throws both hands over her eyes laughing hysterically and I head to the door to collect our dinner.

Excerpt #2
“So, Dane. It’s been driving me nuts, and I have to ask. What is it about Sarah that has you so wrapped up? Don’t get me wrong- I think the world of Sarah. But…well she’s…” He struggles to find the right words to say without pissing me off.
“Heavy set?” I ask, relieving him.
“Yeah. She’s pretty and all, but I guess when you could have your pick, why a heavy-set girl?” he asks.
“Man, have you ever noticed how most of the shapely chicks have attitudes bigger than they are? Well, Sarah’s not like them at all. She has a heart bigger than her body, and she loves with every ounce of it. Her sweet shyness and her easygoing personality are bonuses. Did I ever tell you about the really skinny girl I was with? I was wrestling around, just playing with her, and I ended up breaking her tailbone? I knew right then and there that skinny girls aren’t for me. Sarah has cushioning in all the right places, and let me just say, that cushion does not get in the way! In fact, she’s the best I’ve ever had as far as sex goes. Besides that, I knew after just a couple of hours of talking to her that she wants to be loved for real and is the type of girl who will give more than she will take. Knowing that just makes me want to give her even more. There’s nothing I wouldn’t do for her.” I can feel myself practically beaming just talking about her. Bastard better not threaten my man-card again!
“Damn dude! You’ve got it bad!” he laughs. “She’s that great in the sack, huh? he jokes.
“Incredible! She does things…well, never mind all that! Let’s just say that you should never underestimate the drive or sexual skills of a “thick” girl! Have you ever heard the Queen song, Fat Bottom Girls? Yeah, I thought it was a joke of a song for a long time, but now I get what they were singing about! She makes me wanna sing too!”

Excerpt #3

My new-found peace comes crashing down when I see her. She is at a cashier stand using a credit card and all I want to do is whip her around by her hair. I wait until she finishes her transaction and leaves the spa, then I follow her out the door.
I catch up to her, grab her arm and spin her around to face me.
“Why don’t you explain to me what the hell you are doing here?” I snap aggressively at her. This is not going to go well at all.
“Sarah…I, I uh…”
“Well?”
“Maybe I better let Dane explain to you why…”
“Screw that.” I back her up against the building and bring my face close to hers. “Let me make this clear. You blew it with him. He is MINE now. So, all of your little secret meetings with him, yeah, they stop now, or I will throw you a beating. Got me?”
Feeling very threatened, the silly bitch decides to grow a backbone. Bad choice.
“Well you better talk to YOUR man then because he ASKED me to be here.”
That’s it. I ball up my fist and blast her. I have never punched anyone in my entire life, and here I am in Curacao engaged in a catfight. All I manage to do after hitting her is to give her a warning. “Stay away from him.” With that, I walk away from her while she is holding her hand over her eye.

Excerpt #4
Finally, I reach the ladies’ room and quickly lock myself in the nearest stall. what am I going to do? Why didn’t I return his smile? Way to go, Sarah. Now he probably thinks you’re a total bitch. Why isn’t he dancing with some hottie? His friends are dancing, why isn’t he? It’s not like he couldn’t take his pick of any girl in the place. Maybe he wasn’t actually smiling at you, but at some girl on the floor that was in your general direction, I silently tell myself. That has to be it. Guys that look like him don’t smile at girls like me.

My thoughts are racing uncontrollable. I close my eyes, take a few deep breaths, and exit the stall. Thank goodness the bathroom is void of other patrons because I need to have a one on one with my reflection in the mirror while I wash my hands. I approach the sink and there she is…in the mirror. The girl Jenna miraculously created. I had forgotten all about how I look tonight. I find myself straightening my clothes, fluffing my hair, checking my lipstick-all the things I would never normally do. Suddenly I realize, this is the beginning of a whole new me. Maybe he was smiling at me after all. I let out a slight giggle and blush at the thought.

I was born and raised in Michigan, though I absolutely hate winters! Why do I stay? Because I would rather freeze half to death and brave the wintery travel than to be more than a couple of miles away from my family.

I am a mother to an Awesome, Unique, Talented, Intelligent, Special, Magnificent little girl…and if you didn’t catch the acronym, she is autistic. She makes life interesting, and I am blessed to say that she is not severely affected by it. She’s a quirky little thing that holds my whole heart in her little hand, even when she is acting out. I also have been wearing the hat of stepmother to two girls much older than my six year old. I have been a major player in raising them for the last 17 years, and am glad to say they have survived and are in their early 20’s now.

My husband…the best on the planet. He is truly the other half of me. I may not have gotten it right the first time around, but I like to think of my first marriage as practice to make this one perfect…and it worked!

It wasn’t until I recently got into my 40’s that I decided to write fiction. I have always been well-versed in writing business letters and that sort of communication, but never believed I had the ability to write a complete novel. When I could no longer combat the nagging in my soul to just start writing, Change Me flowed like water. In fact, the entire prologue was typed into my phone on notepad! Shocked by how well that went, I felt a spark in me that I could not extinguish unless I was writing. I am so proud of the book itself, but pretty dang surprised that I accomplished something I believed impossible. Now I have several more book ideas waiting in the wings to be written. It’s like I opened Pandora’s Box!

When I’m not working as a business manager of a veterinary hospital, in my very minimal free time I love to cook and dream up new recipes. I especially like to bake and create new luscious desserts. Planning and catering parties are challenges I love to take on every chance I get. I absolutely love to be on the back of a motorcycle riding with my husband, though I don’t get to do it nearly as often as I would like. Crafts? You bet! Music-absolutely a necessity of life. But when I found myself with no time for reading I about lost my mind! Big props to the person who invented the Kindle, who thereby provided the opportunity to reunite me with my favorite pastime.

My dreams? Well, I generally am a “keep it simple” sort of person, but I hope to someday visit every tropical paradise possible! A beach chair, my kindle, and a cold drink, soaking up the sun while the surf whispers in my ear sounds like pure Heaven on Earth to me!

More than anything, I hope that I somehow leave a positive and lasting impression on the people I come in contact with, no matter what form of contact that may be.

My ears lifted, pointed, flared out. My eyes burned, the particular sensation of my panther eyes coming forth. Another growl and my jaw lengthened, hardened, my nose now picking up every odor surrounding me, including the sickly odor of the poison flowing thick and strong beneath my skin.
My hands transitioned smoothly into paws, my fingernails curving into deadly-sharp claws. I stretched out, lengthened my back, and let the panther take control.

~~~~~
The lab was cold and silent as Logan breathed deep, drawing the fire through his body and centering the molten energy within his mind. The mouse shivered in his hand, its sickly green eyes staring up at him, its expression sad and seemingly pleading. The little, large-eyed white-furred creature had been shaved to reveal its bare skin, enabling Logan and the lab-techs to assess how well the fire was progressing in killing the poison.
~~~~~

As the glass hit the ground, water burst from it like a geyser, spraying droplets all over the kitchen. And all over me.
Good job, Odel. Now who's going to clean up this mess?
Lying where I fell, my face rested close to my poison-wreathed arm. I stared at it as it throbbed and pulsed, as if the poison had taken on a life of its own and was just waiting for the next moment to advance farther into my flesh.
Who knew a tiny piece of Wraith-sword could be this deadly?

Meet the Author

I have been a writer from the time I was old enough to recognise that reading was a doorway into my imagination. Poetry was my first foray into the art of the written word. Books were my best friends, my escape, my haven. I am essentially a recluse but this part of my personality is impossible to practise given I have two teenage daughters, who are actually my friends, my tea-makers, my confidantes… I am blessed with a husband who has left me for golf. It’s a fair trade as I have left him for writing. We are both passionate supporters of each other's loves – it works wonderfully…

My heart is currently broken in two. One half resides in South Africa where my old roots still remain, and my heart still longs for the endless beaches and the smell of moist soil after a summer downpour. My love for Ma Afrika will never fade. The other half of me has been transplanted to the Land of the Long White Cloud. The land of the Taniwha, beautiful Maraes, and volcanoes. The land of green, pure beauty that truly inspires. And because I am so torn between these two lands – I shall forever remain cross-eyed.

 Dream Cast

(Kayla’s Flashback)
Kayla, your brothers are watching you while your dad and I attend this banquet dinner. Your sisters are at Aunt Lucy‟s for the weekend. Keep an eye on things, please. All the boys are together, you know how messy that can get. Jake and Carson should be calling to let us know when they will be home. Can you please write the message down and leave it on the fridge?” my mom said to me.
Jane Williams was a beautiful woman. Many say she could pass for a model even now. I could remember hearing several of my brothers‟ friends saying those words when they met our mom for the first time.
“Yes, ma‟am.” I said rolling my eyes. Nothing I hated more than being told how to do the obvious things. I knew how to answer the phone and take a message, as well as where to put it.
“You‟re sure you don‟t want to go to Aunt Lucy‟s? We could drop you off on our way.”
“Yes, mom. I would rather stay here. I have a project to work on anyway.”
I didn‟t like going to Aunt Lucy‟s. She was a little out there in an odd way, and I much preferred to stay at home when my sisters went over there. They did all the girlie things; I was happier just getting muddy and climbing trees.
“Okay, love you guys! Behave yourselves, boys, and keep an eye on your siste,r please,” Jane yelled as she headed out the door on my father‟s arm.
“Eli, do you have some time to help me with a school project?”
I loved all my siblings, but I had bonded most with Elijah and Jake. They were overprotective but I still loved them.
“Can we work on it tomorrow, Kay? We‟re going to have some friends over and play some pool.”
I forced a smile, trying hard to hide my disappointment at not being able to spend time with my brothers, who were home on break
“Sure,” I said. “I will stay in my room and out of the way.” He hugged me and I headed to my room.
My room was simple. I had a daybed up against one wall. Across from the bed was a built-in entertainment center with shelves for all my favorite books and movies. There was a built-in desk at the far end of my room, and a walk in closet that had more than enough room for all my clothes and shoes. I even had my own bathroom. It wasn‟t huge, but it was big enough for a bathtub/shower, a sink with vanity, and a toilet. I didn‟t have to share it with my brothers or sisters, and that was all I cared about. There was nothing about my room that screamed „girlie;‟ the walls were beige and the carpet was white. The linens were lilac, as were the curtains. I loved my room; it was peaceful, relaxing, and easy to stay focused on my studies. I sat down at my desk and started working on my homework assignment.
Music started playing loudly from downstairs. I slowly made my way to the top of the grand staircase. When I got to the banister, I saw a room full of people. My brothers were hamming it up big time for the girls there. I sighed heavily and shook my head at my brothers‟ actions. Judging by the amount of people and their laughter and music, I knew it was going to be loud for a while. So I made my way back to my room, turned on the radio, put my headphones on and went back to work on the project.
A few hours later, it was late and I was tired, so I decided to call it a night. The music was still going downstairs, so I knew the only way I was going to get any sleep was if I switched to my wireless headphones and wore them to bed. After changing for bed and brushing my teeth, I crawled in bed and fell asleep in no time.
Unsure of how long I was sleeping when my bedroom light came on. I sat up and tried to get my eyes to adjust to the light. Through the blur I thought I saw my brother in the doorway.
“Jeez, Nick! I was sleeping, you know?”
I rubbed my eyes, and when I looked back the door was being locked. It was not my brother after all. Instead it was a man about the height of my brother, with a buzzed head and average frame, though it was apparent that he worked out. He wore a tank top with a vest over it, revealing several tattoos lining his arms and neck. His jeans were baggy and sagged from his waist. He had three piercings - two silver hoops in his ears that that caught the light from my room when he walked, and the other in his lip. He moved closer to me, and I noticed that his eyes were dark - almost black. He walked with the confidence that he owned the world and had a smile on his face that sent chills down my spine.
“Umm, you need to leave my room,” I said, trying to keep the fear from my voice.
“My name is Alex. I am a friend of your brother, Carson. I take it he is not coming home tonight?” His voice was low and had a menacing tone as he spoke.....
(Jason’s POV)

I was just walking up to the front of the house when I froze in my spot. Staring at the sight before me, I watched as a woman came running from the house. Her long, brown, curly hair was flying like silk in the wind behind her as she ran. It was like watching her in slow motion.
She was breathtaking. She had perfect opulent curves, not pencil thin like most women these days think they need to be. As she ran, her perfect size breasts were bouncing along. Just looking at her was making my cock stir in my pants. I watched as she made her way down the steps trying to get her shoes off. She was down on the walk, struggling with her other shoe when she started to fall. I ran in to catch her. Her hair fell into her face as I cradled her in my arms.
For the first time in a long time, as I held this woman in my arms, I had a feeling of peace come over me. Something about this woman called to me. She wasn‟t the normal type that I took to bed when I was frustrated. She was different. I can‟t put my finger on why, but I wanted to get to know her better; a lot better. She wiggled and her breasts rubbed against my chest and I had to bite back a groan. I knew it had been a while since I had been with a woman but this was ridiculous. No woman has ever affected me like this one. Instead of making me want to run away, I wanted to get closer.
Jeez, you fucking pervert!

Hey Y'all! PJ here. You want to know a little about me. Well I live in Indiana with my husband of ten years, our three kids, and two dogs.  I love writing and reading in any spare time that I have.  I have been writing for as long back as I can remember, but I put it aside for a while. There are many reasons I did that but mostly it just wasn't time for me to really push it, I think. My oldest son is an inspiration. He is autistic and the view he has on life is astounding. He doesn't let the bullies or negative reaction to him slow him down. My daughter loves to read just like her mama and my youngest son is a complete copy of his father it's scary LOL. My family has gone from one extreme to another weather wise. We lived in Alaska to move to Georgia. Big weather difference. Each day I view as a blessing. Make your dreams come true today because none of us are promised tomorrow. Hugs to all and many blessings.

EXCERPT 1:

“Thank you so much.” She was beginning to feel like a broken record. She saw him glance around the parking lot and followed his gaze to the coffee shop in the corner.

“Why don’t you thank me by having coffee with me? We could go over to the shop next door. Sounds like you’ve been having a pretty cruddy day. Maybe I can cheer you up?” And then he gave her that killer smile. Okay, so… not gay?

Must do it for other girls, but Sara wasn’t swayed. He probably went from grocery store to grocery store, looking for helpless females to help out, guilting them into going for coffee with him. Yep, that was it. He was a serial charmer.

EXCERPT 2:

Sara felt her breath catch in her throat for the second time in two days, and he looked away. Since the light was going down and the sun was to his back, she couldn’t see what color his eyes were, but she already knew that intense gaze was a deep green. She felt his eyes on her once more and the familiar tingles tickled their way up and down her spine.

The man from the gas station.

This was completely incredible. What were the odds of Sara running into not one, but both of Lisa’s brothers in the same day? Both coming to her rescue with two very different scenarios playing out and with her having two totally different reactions to the men. There’s no way I’m going to be able to pull this off! Live with this man? They would completely drive each other insane. This cannot be happening!

EXCERPT 3:

A thought occurred to Sara. “Nick, did you know my Mom was there?” He shook his head no, rubbing his forehead against hers. “So you weren’t putting on a show with the kiss?” He shook his head once more.

“Then…what was...” she trailed off helplessly.

He leaned back against the wall, but still holding her hand, quirked an eyebrow. He didn’t give her time to ask any more questions but instead leaned in again, and Sara closed her eyes, bracing herself for another kiss. Her eyes popped opened in surprise when she felt him kiss the tip of her nose. He turned and headed to the garage, pulling her along behind him.

S.K. Weathers was born in Colorado, but grew up an Army Brat. Having lived in Texas, California, and Utah, her family moved back to Colorado when she was in 6th grade. Growing up, she was painfully shy and had a hard time with moving constantly and making friends. She read quite a bit when she was younger and her love of reading only increased over time. In grade school she would write for fun, and then in high school she wrote several uncompleted works. Writing was a creative outlet for her during stressful times in her life. Then one day she stumbled upon a fanfiction site where everyday people would write stories about their favorite literary, television and movie characters. She published several short stories and the feedback she received was positive enough she went back to works she had never finished and revisited them. After urging from a couple of friends she decided to take the plunge and self-publish. Fiancé for Hire is her first published work. She has a day job, but hopes that one day she will be able to write full time.
