Bryn Halbrook had always seen the glow on the people around her. And she knows all too well what psychiatrists do to people who claim impossible powers. She's always stayed below the radar, but when she discovers the meaning of the beautiful auras, she's not sure why she was cursed with the ability to see the soon-to-be-dead and be unable to do anything about it. But Bryn is on the brink of the unbelievable truth - she is a creature from myth. Valkyrie- a warrior maiden of the God Odin. And a Collector of Souls.

Aidan Lee just can't do what he's told. Visiting Craven was not supposed to be a time to fall in love. He's just helpless when faced with the beautiful Brynhildr, but there is more to the biker dude that either Bryn or Aidan himself knows. Can their fledgling love survive the secrets and intrigue, the reality of Odin's realm of Asgard, the pressures of being a warrior of the gods, But Bryn lucks out when the Trickster god Loki sets his sights on her. Can Bryn hold her own against the charmingly manipulative god long enough to discover what Loki is really planning? Dead Radiance is a fantasy filled with passion and intrigue, betrayal and broken hearts, that will keep you turning the page.

About T.G. Ayer

I have been a writer since I was old enough to recognize that reading was a doorway into my imagination. Books were my best friends, my escape, my haven. I am essentially a recluse and am blessed with a husband who has left me for golf. It's a fair trade as I have left him for writing. We are both passionate supporters of each others loves - it works wonderfully...

My heart is currently broken in two. One half resides in South Africa where my old roots still remain, and my heart still longs for the endless beaches and the smell of moist soil after a summer downpour. The other half of me has been transplanted to the island of New Zealand. A land of green, pure beauty that truly inspires. And because I am so torn between these two lands - I shall forever remain crosseyed.

Valkyrie Bryn Halbrook is broken and damaged...

Struggling to accept the loss of her wings, Bryn's not sure if she can be a real Valkyrie anymore. But when a mysterious prophecy claims she will be the reason the All-Father dies, she is determined to ensure the prediction will not come to pass.

A visit to the three fates who live beneath the great Tree of life, sends Bryn racing against time to find the missing Heimdall and his horn. As Odin's life hangs in the balance and Ragnarok draws ever closer, Bryn has to find a way to save Heimdall and Odin before she can discover the truth about who she really is.

In the thrilling conclusion of the Valkyrie series Bryn must battle not only the formidable frost giants and the hated God Loki, but she must also find a balance between what she will lose and what she will gain.

My Thoughts

I have waited so long to finally see how this amazing journey would come to an end and I wasn’t disappointed; Dead Chaos is full of emotional turmoil.

Right from the very start, the reader is thrown into the horrific crimes of hate that have been thrust upon Bryn; and yet the ever strong and stoic heroine is pushed to her very limits and still manages to think about how the people she cares about feel. Her friends and their safety are always of utmost importance to her – I love Bryn!

This really is a ‘not-to-be-missed’ story.
Love, hate, adventure, mystery, love, angst and a whole lot of soul searching culminates into the most addictive story of Valkyrie and Norse Mythology I’ve read to date. I knew the conclusion to this series would be epic but exactly how epic, well it blew my mind.

So many twists and turns, surprises and shocks, but I have to keep my lips sealed – no spoilers here!!
(But I did have to keep the tissues close pretty much throughout)

A tear jerker, a fun and complex quest, and an unexpected and fitting ending all make Dead Chaos one of my favorite books!

Book Review: Dead Embers by T.G Ayer

Title: Dead Embers (Valkyrie #2)
Author: T.G Ayer
Release Date: e-book: August 15th 2012, print: August 30th 2012
Publisher: Evolved Publishing
Source: Received from the author for an honest review.

Valkyrie-in-training Bryn Halbrook just can't catch a break. With her boyfriend stuck in Hel and the taunting laughter of Loki still ringing in her ears, she struggles to concentrate on her training and duties in Odin's realm. The last thing she expects or wants is more adventure—but then treachery, a shocking abduction and a chilling discovery send her forth on another perilous, globe-hopping mission.

As the ultimate battle, Ragnarok, draws closer, it's a race against time for Bryn, Fenrir and their team to discover who kidnapped her foster brother from the halls of Asgard and what's causing the mysterious deaths of so many of Odin's chosen warriors.

In the exciting sequel to DEAD RADIANCE, Bryn encounters dwarfs and dragons, new friends and old foes—but worst enemy of all may be the person she trusts most!

My Thoughts

I reviewed the first book in this series Dead Radiance, earlier this year and you can read it here.

I should also state that after reading Dead Radiance, I had the incredible pleasure of meeting this talented and very sweet and unassuming author in person, but that has in no way colored my judgement in writing this review, as always, this review is unbiased, honest, and my own opinion.

                                           ~<3 ~      ~<3 ~

Dead Embers picks up immediately from where Dead Radiance finished, throwing the reader headlong into the emotional and heart wrenching moment that shocked many to the core.

Second guessing every decision she has ever made has left Bryn confused and in a tailspin of self doubt - and without her most trusted friend at her side, she struggles to cope as Ragnorak quickly approaches.

Warned by the god's to trust no-one, Bryn is yet again thrust into a journey fraught with betrayal, leading her to question not only her own actions but the actions and intentions of all those around her.

The depth of emotion with which T.G Ayer writes, is such that I was immediately sucked into her hauntingly beautiful world of Norse mythology yet again.
Insanely intense at times, I was kept on the edge of my seat - desperately trying to anticipate the next unnecessary death, the next friend to turn.
Darker than book #1 - Dead Embers will have you in knots as you try to unravel all the plot twists and turns.
And I knew there would be an ultimate twist, a reason for all the betrayal and deceit, but I was still shocked by the sheer hatred that this well organized and despicable plan entailed
...
and O.M.G - what an ending - Holy Helheim!!

Full of suspense, intrigue, and astounding revelations - Dead Embers is an incredibly emotional, and shockingly additive adventure that will be enjoyed by readers both young and old.

Another richly deserved 5 Star read ~<;]
