My Thoughts

What can I say – I am a die hard T.G. Ayer fan and she definitely didn’t disappoint with her latest offering. In fact she took on one of my all time favourite paranormals – Angels - and flipped it around some, played with the many myths and stories, gave it her own spin and produced a fresh NA version that lovers of all things Angel, Demon, good and evil should fall in love with.

Filled with twisted plots thought up by an evil mastermind, double crossing demons, age old Nephilim, Angels, Gods and so much more, RETRIBUTION really is an up all night read; you will not want to put it down.

I really can’t wait to read what comes next for Evie, her friends, and her possible love interest - it’s getting a little steamy in Hell!

Another fabulous start to what I can only imagine is going to be an amazing paranormal series.

Book Review: Angel Betrayed by Cynthia Eden

Title: Angel Betrayed (The Fallen #2)
Author: Cynthia Eden
Release Date: June 26th 2012
Publisher: Kensington
Imprint: Brava
Category: Fiction - Adult: Romance: Fantasy
Source: Received from the publisher via NetGalley

A LITTLE BIT OF ANGEL LUST.

Sammael – call him Sam – was an angel once. An angel of death. But the dispassionate, watch-from-above thing just wasn’t working for him when it meant watching evil torture innocent souls day in and day out. It might have cost him his wings, but these days, he gets to apply the direct method on the bad guys. Problem is, what’s making his life difficult is a bad girl…

Seline O’Shaw needs protection, and with the hounds of hell on her tail, she’s not going to quibble too hard about where she gets it. Sam’s virtue is questionable, but he’s smoking hot, massively powerful, and owes her a favour. So what if she’s getting a little case of angel lust? There are some damn deadly sins after her hide…

My Thoughts

Filled with great plot twists, steeped in mystery and intrigue, the lovable and frustrating Sam is stubborn, angry, and misunderstood - and a total hottie!

Selina is strong, pigheaded and overly confident in her Succubus skills but completely at a loss when it comes to Sam, and her heritage.

The author has done a spectacular job with her characters and their background stories. I was very quickly caught up in this new and intriguing world of Angels, Demons and all things paranormal.

The very detailed world building using both traditional and new Angel rules/facts and hierarchy is exceptional, and I very much enjoyed all the new and exciting powers that the Angel's in this world had to offer.

Jam packed with adventure and excitement, Angel Betrayed is a well written story that flows effortlessly.

I cant wait to read more in this series, 4 Stars ;]

With ethereal gifts and a Guardian to watch over her, Samantha must remember who or what she truly is to save those she cares for the most.

My Thoughts

I have quite a bit to say about this book and I warn you now, although I hate spoilers in a review and always do my best to avoid them,
there will be spoilers here.

There are parts of this book that I absolutely loved and parts that I struggled with.
If you like Angels (you know I do!!) and Demons, supernatural strangeness, spirit guides, zombie inducing virus's, and much, much more you are going to love this book.

I really enjoyed the relationship that these sisters had. It was clear that they cared for each other and had each others backs.
Which is why I had a problem with the way in which Samantha dealt with their deaths.
Barely a tear was shed, not a moment of despair to be had.
I know they were on the run, and had lots of other stuff going on but I just didn't understand her apparent lack of feeling.

I enjoyed very much the banter between Samantha and H.B. I found him to be quite the larakin and I liked the added tension he brought to her relationship with Trent.
But once he was unable to change back from his coyote form his roll faded into the background bar a few telepathic conversations with Sam.
I would have liked a little more of H.B's smart mouth and his attempts at seducing Sam away from Trent!

I did enjoy very much the underlying story line for Dricus and Barbra.
I definitely felt the emotion of their connection and was happy to see the growing love between them improve his Fallen status.

I really, really loved the parts of the story that were written from Trent's P.O.V.
Although sparse, I found myself holding my breath throughout.
His 'voice' was just so refreshing, stripped bare, and a joy to read.
I would love to read more of the story from his prospective.

The story line in general was interesting and I liked the zombie virus/government experiment/Lucifer theme very much.
There were a few aspects of the back story that I would have liked more clarity on, however it is the first book in a series and the author cant give everything away!!

I was devastated with the ending.
I really did not want it to finish, and to finish that way was just gut wrenching!!

All that being said, I haven't been able to get this story out of my head!!
The author has done her job very well with these characters. I care about them, a lot.

It looks like I have a long wait too, as expected publication date for Book 2 is set for January 2012

Overall, a thoroughly enticing read.
4 Stars ;]

First Monday Of The Month Giveaway: June

Its June already people!
We are half way through the year, which means we are even closer to Christmas and well on our way to 2012. Eeekk!!

I LOVE ANGELS.

Angel ornaments, angel art, angel movies, angel jewellery, books about angels..........

And they don't have to be your traditional Heavenly Angels either, in fact if I'm reading about angels they can be any stretch of the imagination.

Well for one of you at least!!
Crystal Angel Earrings
They are Rose Quartz and Strawberry Agate Angels and super cute.

AND THEY COULD BE YOURS!!!

Thats right this months giveaway is this pair of ANGEL earrings complete with little gift bag.

Just tell me in your comment what you 'have a thing for' and you're in to win.
