I would like to read the hunger games, but as an editor I refuse to read anything written in the first person present tense. I can't get my mind around it, as I'm constantly translating over to past perfect. How can one write about something that has happenned in the first person present tense? It's illogical, probably that's why it appeals to the young reader who hasn't yet read enough to notice the difference. Third person present tense is exclusively for screenplays and third person/first person past perfect is the most common form used when writing fiction. It always was and always will be.
ReplyDeleteSorry, no read.
I might be too late to get in on the giveaway, but thanks for having such a cool one!! Unique gifts for all of us "fans!"
