Blog Tour ~ Luca: You Will Be Mine by Jaimie Roberts

Title: Luca: You Will Be Mine
Authors: Jaimie Roberts
Genre: Adult Fiction, Erotica, Romantic Comedy
Event - Blog Tour
Hosted by Hooked on book's & Cherry0Blossoms Promotions
Murderous thoughts. That is what I had once Isabella walked through the door and revealed to me who she was. I needed an escape. An escape from my thoughts, an escape from the hurt... an escape from... him.
I was a broken woman, but I was never going to break my resolve. I grew up being a fighter, because I had to. No man could ever bring me down... Not even Luca.
But, I had to admit, I never thought my heart would break as much as it did that day. Of course, I fled, but I was a fool to think he would ever let me go. He always told me I was his... no matter what the cost. He was determined to keep me, regardless of the lengths he had to go to reach his goal. He was like a moth to my flame, a tattoo carved into my heart. I could never escape his pull.
I may have evaded him, but I knew it was just a matter of time. However, once he did catch up with me nothing could have prepared us for what happened next.

GET TO KNOW YOU INTERVIEW

Tell us is there anything about you that people don't already know?
I love shoes. My husband calls me a centipede.
Roughly 11 years ago I met my sister for the very first time. The reunion was a rather emotional, but fulfilling one.

Your books are so emotional. How long does it take for you to be able to get the characters out of your mind and move on to the next?

Sometimes it's hard to get your head out of a book once it's finished. Deviant actually made me ill. My blood pressure went down so much that I almost fainted at work once. Not nice. :( In the end I had to take a deep breath and move onto the next project. I like to build scenes up in my head before I start writing them down. It makes it easier to flow that way.

Are the names of the characters in your novels important?
Sometimes the hardest part of writing a book is choosing the character's names. I think they're important because a good, strong name can have an inpact on the way you feel about the character. That's what I feel, anyway.

What are the most important attributes to remaining sane as a writer?
Coffee, sweets, and wine. Did I mention wine?

What is the most demeaning thing said about you as a writer?
I tend not to dwell on the bad things that are said. Luckily, I haven't had anything too bad that it has stuck with me. I count myself extremely lucky to have met some wonderful readers out there. I welcome reviews good and bad, and also welcome any people who have reviewed my books negatively to contact me. I seriously don't bite... well, not that much. ;)

How do you react to a bad review of one of your books?
If they're constructive, I welcome them. I once had a reviewer rate a book of mine 3 stars and emailed me to apologise. I had read the review and told her there was nothing to apolgise for. The review was constructive and well thought out. It's these reviews that aid me in becoming a better writer. It's the "Bash the Author" reviews I get upset about. There's just no need for it.

What was the hardest part of writing your book?
Maintaining a flow. Sometimes I will sit there and my mind goes completely blank. I hate it when that happens. :( The other part is writing scenes and then looking back on them thinking, are people going to get bored reading this?

Did you learn anything from writing your book and what was it?
That I can write emotionally difficult scenes. In Luca 2, something happens to Clara that hit a nerve with me. I cried writing it, and then cried reading it over again. I didn't enjoy it, but if other people have the same emotions that I did then at least I know I have done the best I could regarding that scene.

Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?
I suppose only that in life you have to be grateful for the things that you have. Sometimes bad things can happen, but when it does you have to think to yourself that there are people in a much worse situation than me.

Have you ever read or seen yourself as a character in a book or a movie?
Not really. I have read and watched characters in a movie and thought, I wish I could be like her.
I love the covers. What made you choose them? What gave you the idea?
I went hunting for a hot Italian model. I found one and asked my designer if she could work her magic. I explained that having the castle somewhere on the cover was important, as it was important to my character.

Who designs your covers?
I don't think I want to tell you because I want to keep her to myself! ;) Only joking... Well, maybe just a little bit.

Kellie Dennis from Book Cover by Design. She's awesome!

Describe in 5 words, your writing:
Drama, dark, angst, romantic and erotic.

When you were a child what did you want to be when you grew up?
A managing director of a crisp factory.

Only joking. Funnily enough I wanted to be a writer. I used to write poetry when I was 17. I even had a story of a young girl that moves from the country to London and works for an older CEO. Romance blooms, of course. In the end I never started it.
What do you use to write your book?
A lot of imagination. I think it's imperative when starting a new project. I start the kettle for my coffee or tea, fire up my laptop, and start tapping away.

Do you listen to music while you writing or reading?
Once in a blue moon I may put some music on just to have some background noise. Mostly, though I like peace and quiet whilst I'm writing.

Tell us your latest news?
I'm currently writing another stalker book called Scars. I'm quite excited about this one.

What book are you reading now?
I read Grey recently, so now I'm on Fifty Shades Darker.

Do you have a nickname?
Not really. My husband calls me James, which I find quite sweet. I just think of it as a shortened version of Jaimie.

What are your pet peeves?
I can be a little OCD about certain things. Toilet paper being put on the holder correctly, for one. ;) The others are opened cupboard doors or drawers. I hate that! I also can't understand how many socks we go through as a family. I seriously put on about ten pairs every time I do a wash, lol. Considering I have to do a wash at least twice a week, that's a lot of socks.

I'll shut up now.

Do you ever write naked?
Lol, I think my hubby would like me to, but no.

What is your favourite Starbuck’s/coffee shop drink?
I don't have a Starbucks where I live. :( Normally I have my coffee black.

What's your favourite fruit?
Strawberries... preferably dipped in melted chocolate. Hmm...

What's your favourite tv show?
Suits.

What's your favourite genre?
Romance

One of your favourite quotes
The enemy of my enemy is my friend

Do you enjoy giving interviews?
I'm enjoying this one, so yes. :

Five Fun Facts:
I'm a bitch
I'm a lover
I'm a child
I'm a mother
I'm a sinner
I'm a saint

Oh wait, that's 6! Actually, you can scrap bitch. I'm not really a bitch. My husband may disagree with me at times on that, though. ;)

Thank you so much for taking part. We can't wait to read more work from you.

Blog Tour & Interview ~ Missing Link by Addison Jane

 photo MissingLinktour_zps19f3ead9.jpg

Can you tell us a little bit about yourself that we won’t find in your bio?
I’m not big on exercise, even though I should be! I grew up next to the beach but I don’t like swimming in the sea. I’ve always loved reading but it wasn’t until I got my first ipad just over a year ago that I discovered just how much. I’m VERY shy in person and often come off as a bit of a snob, but that’s only because talking to people I don’t know makes me nervous. I don’t like watermelon.

What do you do in your spare time or when you are not writing?
I work and I’m a single parent to a beautiful four year old girl who takes up most of my time. I’m also a facebook addict.

Do you have a ‘day job’?
Yes! I work with kids and I love my job!

When did you first start writing?
When I was around 13 or 14 I think? I would fill school books with stories. But I only started writing seriously about a year ago.

How or why did you choose the genre you write in?
I love romance. It makes me feel good to take two people and write about the connection they have. Romance isn’t big in my real life, lol, so I live my fantasies through the characters I write.

Where do you get your ideas?
The Finders series came after watching a show about missing persons. I always loved reading about MC’s and Military men that protect and fall in love but I wanted to write something a little different.
My latest book (Yet to be announced!) came from watching a documentary about street kids and homeless teens and their dreams for something better.

Do you ever experience writer’s block?
Yes, god yes. It’s hard but usually what works for me is a hot shower. Some people sing in the shower and think about life events, I like to act out book scenes lol.

Do you work with an outline, or do you just write?
A very very brief outline. I know what the story with entail, but writing it is just a journey that can take me anywhere.

Can you tell us about your challenges (if any) in getting your first book published?
As I said, I’m very shy, so self promotion is a really big struggle for me. I hate talking myself up which I’ve actually found can be important especially for a beginning author as at that point, there aren’t a lot of people willing to do it for you.

If you had to go back and do it all over, is there any aspect of your novel or getting it published that you would change?
There have been a lot of learning experiences but I don’t regret anything I did.

Have you written a book you love that you have not been able to get published?
Not yet!

Can you tell us about any WIP’s?
Catalyst – A story about a teen runaway.

Is anything in your book based on a real life experience or is it purely all imagination?
Sometimes I will include stupid jokes or things my friends have said, and sometimes I base characters on people I know! Allie, from Missing Link is based on my best friend.

What was your favorite chapter (or part) to write and why?
When Im writing about something dark, or when a character is struggling. Because there are so many emotions swirling.

How did you come up with the title?
Missing Link, Always had the title in my head, the story came second!

What project are you working on now?
Catalyst has taken front stage before the Second Finders book. The characters are just so stuck in my head I need to get them out!

Are there certain characters you would like to go back to, or is there a theme or idea you’d love to work with again?
Charlie, who is portrayed as the bad guy in Missing Link. He has a story that needs to be told.

What has been the best compliment
given to you as an author?
Having people talk to me as though my characters are real people is the biggest compliment. Just knowing they felt them as strongly as I did feels amazing.

Do you have any advice to give to aspiring writers?
Keep writing! It doesn’t matter what people say or how many people read your book. If you have a story to be told, just tell it!

Why did you want to be a writer?
I felt as though my head and heart might burst if I didn’t share the stories in my head!

Where did the idea for Missing Link first come from?
Something I saw on tv!

How did you choose the genre you write in?
I'm a sucker for a good love story.

If you had to go back and do it all over, is there any aspect of your books or getting them published that you would change?
Not at all!

In your experience, what are the best and worst things about being a writer?
Best – Being able to share a part of myself! Worst – Finding the time to write!

Who are your ‘must read’ authors and who would we find on your bookshelves/e-reader?
Must read- Tijan’s Fallen Crest series. The amount of times I've read this series is stupid.

Authors on my e-reader?
Tijan, Tillie Cole, Bella Jewel, Crystal Spears, Callie Hart, Lilli St Germain, Ava Manello, K T Fisher, L Wilder, Nina Levine, Debra Kayn, River Savage.

Favorite food…
Sushi! (At the moment)

Favourite movie…
Frozen haha

Cat lover or Dog person…
Dog, Always.

Celebrity crush…
Charlie Hunnam

If you weren’t a writer, you’d be…
Child councellor!

Is there anything that you would like to say to your readers and fans?
Thankyou. From the bottom of my heart. I never thought people would feel anything for what I write, you have no idea how much I appreciate every ounce of support you give me.

Thanks so much for agreeing to be interviewed <3

Prologue

"Daddy, you can't do this!" I screamed at my father as he threw my belongings into a suitcase. "Daddy, please!"
He didn't look at me, he just continued hurriedly. I had known my Father was in too deep with some not so nice people, but I had never imagined he would use his own daughter as collateral in a deal that had now gone sour. I was his child, his blood; my little brother Devon and I were all he had. Our mother had passed away 5 years ago and we had stuck by each other solidly. His struggles with money had only started in the past year as his gambling and drug addiction worsened. It had quickly consumed him as the more we struggled, the deeper he dove into his dodgy dealings, bets and card games with high powered people while I stayed at home, making sure my 16 year old brother got to school on time, got fed and kept out of trouble. At 20 I was his surrogate parent.
Unbeknown to me, last night he had gone on a bender and joined a poker game with some of the richest men known in the neighbouring cities. He was running out of things to place on the table and after he lost our small house that we had bought with my mother’s life insurance, I thought he would have walked away. But here I was pleading with all my heart for him to not let them take me after he placed on the table his only daughter.
"He will look after you, which is more than what I can do." He muttered quietly, still unable to look me in the eye. Tears flowed freely down my cheeks, staining my beautiful blue blouse. "I’m going to send Devon to live with Aunt May, so don't worry about him. You need to put your head down, be polite and gracious, Sam. And he won't hurt you."
I sniffed and sobbed as I followed him out of my room and down our short hall. Pictures littered the walls, I stopped at one of my Mother and I, her bright green eyes shimmered back at me and I swallowed hard trying to force back the tears that threatened to breach my eyes. I touched my lips lightly and reached out, placing my fingertips to her cheek. Oh how I missed her. People told me I looked just like her. We were both petite at a small 5 foot 2 inches and weighing no more than around 55kgs. But the thing I loved the most that I inherited from her beauty was my long wavy red hair. It was a dark red but in the light it shone a bright orange. Some people were ashamed of their ginger hair, but I wore mine with pride, my Mother always telling me how beautiful and unique it was. She would have never let this happen, she would have never bargained me for money. I felt anger rise in my stomach, anger at my Father. He was selfish and an addict, maybe in some fucked up reality this was actually my escape from a man who just didn't care enough about his own daughter to fight for her, to keep her safe.
I wiped away the tears that had now trickled lightly down my cheeks and took a couple of deep breaths. I didn't want to show this man who had bought me any weakness. I would be polite and accepting but I would be strong. Strength.
I walked into our lounge with my chin up and confidence in my stride. My Dad was handing my suitcase to a large man dressed in a black suit. He looked like a bodyguard; he was huge. And not in the sexy muscle kind of way, but in the eats too many donuts for breakfast and doesn't run enough kind of way. There were two other men that resembled him standing and one sitting in my Father’s large arm chair. He was handsome, older, maybe in his late thirty’s. He had rings glittering on his fingers and a light gold chain hung around his neck. His hair was short, like a buzz cut and a light brown colour, nothing exciting. But when he looked at me, his dark blue eyes bore intensely into my soul. I was about to be owned and the darkness behind those deep pools was unmistakable.
He rose to his feet and quietly moved towards me. I glanced quickly at my Father. He stood, hanging his head shamefully, still unable to look me in the eye. He'd just gambled away his daughter’s freedom, he should feel shame. A soft gentle hand lifted mine and my eyes shot back to the man in front of me. He smiled, almost softly.
"Hello, Samantha." He lifted my hand to his mouth and brushed it across my knuckles. "My name is Charles. I expect you are ready to leave?"
I swallowed and took a deep breath, polite and gracious my father had said. I was unaware of what this man was capable of so for now, I would play the part until I could figure out how to get myself out of this mess my idiot Father had created.
"Yes, Sir." I said, unable to meet his eyes.
His smile grew a little as I expected he was pleased he would not need to drag me kicking and screaming through the door. He kept my hand in his light grasp as he led me past my Father. I didn't even bother to look up at him as Charles stopped briefly,
"Until we meet again Daniel. Thank you for your business."
We walked slowly down the front steps of my small house, his hand still held gently to mine. Strangely I didn't feel scared. Strength. That's all I needed.
"Sam!!" I turned to see Devon sprinting out the front door and racing towards me, tears uncharacteristically streaking his cheeks. He was always the strong one, I was usually the crier. But for right now, I needed to be his strength. I need to show him I was okay. Charles dropped my hand as Devon dived into the arms I didn't realise I had stretched out to him.
"Don't go Sam, Please!"
I looked up at the man who now owned me, pleading for just a moment with my brother, he smiled softly and nodded, climbing into the back of the large SUV parked at the curb.
I took my little brothers face between my hands and held his gaze.
"Listen Devon. You are gonna go to Aunt Mays, you're gonna finish school, you're gonna do your best and I will always be proud of you." He shook his head profusely. "Strength, Dev. I’ll see you soon.
I pulled his face to my shoulder and wrapped my arms around him. I sometimes wonder if I would have run had I known Charles wouldn't allow me to see Devon. But after he threatened Dev's life if I even thought about trying to escape him, I decided to stay as far from my little brother as possible and just hope like hell he's okay.
Hope.
Strength.
