The Time Spirit Trilogy Omnibus includes Golden Blood, Black Blood, Pure Blood and an exclusive short story, only found in this book.

Discover the magic of time travel and jump into a world of forbidden love and a hidden mystery that spans the ages.

Golden Blood
Gemma Hart never knows when her father is going to whisk her back in time. Her toes start tingling and she has a few minutes to find a secret haven where she can disintegrate and appear in another time and place. While “across the line,” her training and skills are put to the test as she completes a mission that will change history for the lucky few her father has selected.

Gemma's parents are adamant that secrecy is paramount to her family’s safety. If people knew what they were capable of, they could be "used and abused", as her mother always says. Afraid she might accidentally utter the truth and break the ancient oath of her people, Gemma spends her school days as a loner. Only one thing can throw her sheltered life askew... Harrison Granger.

Harrison never expected to talk to the strange Hart girl, but after a brief encounter he can't stop thinking about her. He begins a campaign to chisel away her icy veneer and is met with unexpected consequences. As he slowly wins this girl over, he enters a surreal world that has him fighting to keep his newfound love and his life.

Black Blood
Gemma and Harrison's fight to be together is far from over. With their relationship now exposed, Gemma's parents are looking for any excuse to bring an end to it. Their passionate dislike of Harrison is still a mystery to Gemma until she meets a man that tells her a truth she is not ready to hear. However, ignoring his warnings will do no good. When Gemma's parents take matters into their own hands, altering history and eliminating Harrison, Gemma is forced to trust this new stranger and learn what he can teach her...or she might never get her boyfriend back.

Pure Blood
Empowered with a new set of skills and knowledge, Gemma is ready to take on whatever her parents throw at her. She is determined to secure her freedom and live the life she so desperately deserves. But underestimating her parents is a big mistake and Gemma soon learns that her only chance at ever being free is to sacrifice the very thing she loves the most...Harrison Granger.

Book Review: Pure Blood by Melissa Pearl

Title: Pure Blood (Time Spirit Trilogy #3)
Author: Melissa Pearl
Publication Date: Paperback May 2012, e-book February 16th 2012
Publisher: Melissa Pearl
Source: Purchased for my own reading pleasure

It is only a matter of time before Gemma's parents find out she travelled through time to bring Harrison back into existence. The fear of being found out is a heavy weight on her shoulders, but she refuses to give up on everything she's fought for. Harrison is worth the risk.

The couple draws closer together as they battle opposing forces from all sides. They stay strong until Gemma's parents welcome an exchange student into their home. Simeon, a gorgeous Californian, is as smooth as coffee and, supposedly, a fellow time spirit. Gemma's parents expect her to take him everywhere and, of course, fall in love with him. After all, he is the boy they have chosen for her.

No longer able to sneak off alone, Gemma must watch every step as she waits for the inevitable nightmare to catch up to her. Her parents ultimate goal is to get that last necklace and open the box hidden in their safe. If they do, Gemma knows her entire world will unravel.
As the danger mounts, Gemma must decide if she has the courage to make the ultimate sacrifice to save the ones she loves and stop to her parents' destructive plans.

My Thoughts

I will try my best not to ramble on but...

I can not tell you how much I absolutely, completely, utterly, adored this book.
I even sent the author a rather embarrassing, super hyped, "OMG I loved it so much" raving fangirl email!!
But oh-my-gosh I have.

I have seriously fallen in love with this entire series.

As with the previous two books in the Time Spirit trilogy, author Melissa Pearl has woven a completely engrossing tale of Gemma and Harrison's love, dastardly acts of murder and betrayal, and an ever-changing future for our time travelling heroine that I have again, eagerly devoured in one sitting.

The emotional and extremely additive story with its constant twists and turns has kept me on the edge of my seat, gasping in shock, squeeeing gleefully with happiness, and I hesitate to admit - had me crying like a baby!
*note* tissues are a must!

While I am sad that this is the last we will see of Gemma and Harrison, this captivating story has come full circle, ending with the most perfect and satisfying HEA I could of ever hoped for. It was simply beautiful.

I can not wait to see what this exceptionally talented author has up her sleeve next because the
Time Spirit trilogy has been one of the best YA series I have read, ever.

My Thoughts

I first stumbled upon this book a few months ago while on Smashwords and was intrigued enough by its blurb to buy it.
It then sat unread in my e-reader on the ever increasing and hardly never getting read tbr pile.

It wasn't until I read an article in a small local newspaper that I realized the author, Melissa Pearl was a fellow Kiwi and that was enough to spark my interest again for Golden Blood.
And after some funny and interesting emails, I was lucky enough to purchase a signed print copy from the author.

Gemma is a little awkward and shy, and does her utmost to keep everybody in her life happy, often to her own detriment. She feels extremely guilty for having uprooted the family from their previous home and so in an attempt to not repeat past mistakes, has pretty much cut herself off from society.

Gemma is slowly and lovingly drawn from her shell by Harrison, a cute and seemingly unattainable boy who is intensely and inexplicably drawn to her.
Their ensuing love story is sweet and full of awww moments.

Golden Blood is a really great read.
The characters are very well written and draw you in straight away.
The story flows easily and the time travel element is intriguing with the possibilities and twists and turns, literally endless.

I can not say enough good things about Gemma and Harrison and Golden Blood without alluding to spoilers, so I'll keep it zipped except to say...read it, buy it, get it now!
You will not be disappointed :)

I'm so glad I got it in print but sometimes those impulsive e-book buys should just go to the top of the reading pile because Golden Blood is a golden read and a perfect 5 star one at that :)
