Today is release day for Pursuit by Australian author Caitlyn Nicholas
It sounds great, I'm adding it to my TBR pile :)

Title: Pursuit
Author: Caitlyn Nicholas
Publisher: Momentum Books
Release Date: August 1st 2013

Legendary hacker, Dimity Pond, is on the run from the law.

Her landlord’s sold her home, her money has disappeared along with her two-timing husband, a cyber-terrorist named Nemesis is forcing her to wreak havoc with a nasty virus and she's developing a vile migraine.
Six years ago, Nemesis framed Dimity for the collapse of one of Europe's biggest banks. The money was never found, and the bank's failure caused untold damage to its customers. She's been living under the radar ever since. The only way she can clear her name and live a normal life is to uncover Nemesis's identity, but he's always one step ahead.
Since Lord Richard Summerhayes left the Special Forces he's built the best disaster-recovery network in the world, known as The Bunker. Banks, militaries, airports and other major systems around the world rely on him as the last unshakeable digital fortress in the face of disaster. Richard has been keeping an eye on his neighbor who has a dubious hacking past. He doesn't like hackers, and when someone nukes his network with an intriguing new virus he knows exactly who to blame. But when he confronts her, he gets a whole lot more than he bargained for.
When Nemesis commits an unthinkable act of terrorism, the last hope is an encrypted file that only Dimity can crack. Will Nemesis manipulate Dimity into helping him wipe out the world's biggest financial center? Or can Richard and Dimity take Nemesis down once and for all?

Excerpt

When Dimity and Richard first meet its not exactly love at first sight...

The purr of a powerful engine made her glance around. A luxurious car cautiously made its way into the yard, its fat tires creeping through the mud.
A pitchfork leaned against the side of the stables. Dimity grabbed it and stepped out in front of the car. It jerked to a halt, and its driver stared over the steering wheel, as if deciding whether he could run her over and get away with it. Then, with a slow shake of his head, he turned off the engine.
“You’re Dimity Pond,” he said with grim resignation as he got out of the car. He was taller than she’d imagined, lean and dressed entirely in black. His hair was dark brown, same as his eyes, and he had the pale skin of a cave-dweller. There were deep lines of strain around his eyes.
He took a step toward her, keeping a close watch on the pitchfork.
 She tightened her grip.
 “And you’re Richard Summerhayes.”
This couldn’t be about the virus – it was untraceable – so she glared at him, though he didn’t seem to notice. Instead he glanced down, frowning as his black boots sank into the mud. There was a controlled rigidity about him, as if every movement was planned. He wasn’t quite what she’d expected.
Excerpt

“My name is Susan Kiffler.” The woman had a cultured English accent that perfectly matched her outfit.
Kiffler? Dimity’s heart stopped.
“So?”
The woman scrabbled around in her gigantic mauve handbag.
“This is a photo of me and my husband, Jake Kiffler, on our wedding day.” She held out a picture with a hand that shook. Not just trembling, but shaking, like an online gamer at the end of a forty-eight hour session, down to his last quart of caffeinated beverage.
Dimity took the photo from the trembling hand and stared at it, trying to make out what it meant. A stunned, sledgehammered feeling made it hard to concentrate. Thoughts skittered out of her grasp and fragmented, like the smashed mug.
One thing was certain.
Jake was the groom who smiled at her from the photo.
“He said it was a disaster, that his first marriage only lasted a few months.” Dimity lifted her chin and narrowed her eyes.
Jake knew her secrets. He’d helped her create a vague sort of life.
Hiding. Isolated.
“Jake Kiffler and I have been married for eleven years.” The woman pulled out a piece of paper and waved it at Dimity. It was a wedding certificate. “We’re not divorced. He’s still my husband.” She pointed to his name on the paper, then put it carefully away.
“Get away from my house.” Dimity reached forward and flicked the photograph back into the gaping bag. “Go away.”
Susan grabbed her wrist. “He’s disappeared. We’ve got two children.”

Book Review: LICK by Kylie Scott

Title: LICK (Stage Dive #1)
Author: Kylie Scott
Release Date: July 1st 2013
Publisher: Momentum
Source: Received from the author for an honest review

Waking up in Vegas was never meant to be like this.

Evelyn Thomas’s plans for celebrating her twenty-first birthday in Las Vegas were big. Huge. But she sure as hell never meant to wake up on the bathroom floor with a hangover to rival the black plague, a very attractive half-naked tattooed man, and a diamond on her finger large enough to scare King Kong. Now if she could just remember how it all happened.

One thing is for certain, being married to rock and roll’s favourite son is sure to be a wild ride.

My Thoughts

I’ve been following all of the little sneak peeks of LICK on the author’s blog, chaffing at the bit for more with each tantalizing snippet. I drooled over the brooding image of David on the cover, anticipating its release with each passing day. And I squeeeed in an almighty fangirl fashion when it arrived in my inbox for review!

LICK is one of those books you stay up to the wee small hours reading.
It’s a book you read while trying to cook breakfast for the kids; a book so engrossing you’ll (well I did anyway) hold off going to the bathroom just so you can read to the end of the page... or even the next!

For those of you who have read Kylie Scott’s other books (Flesh, Skin, Room With a View: Hot Down Under, Colonist’s Wife) you’ll know about her talent for writing snazzy one liners and snarky, tongue in cheek conversations that have you swooning, giggling, and panting with lust. For those of you, who have yet to experience Kylie’s ninja writing skills, prepare for a great ride.

LICK is an experience in awesome; I barely stopped to write notes (hello – you already know I barely stopped for bathroom breaks!!) but the ones I did write read like this…

HOT!
FUNNY!
HOT AND FUNNY!
OMG HOT!
OMG, F*&#ING HOT!!
RAWRRRR THAT’S HOT!!!!!

You get the idea!

Yes, LICK is a book I have fallen in love with; an array of characters who feel like friends, or people I’d like to befriend (or have sex with!) Kylie's characters came alive with every word, every turn of the page, to the point I felt bereft once I'd finished reading. I am physically aching for the next book in this series, I only hope the wait isn't too long!

There really are so many things to love about LICK and I could go on-and-on about it, but you really need to experience it’s amazingness for yourself.

I NEED this in paperback on my keeper shelf now!
So I'll definitely be ordering a signed copy a.s.a.p because a
uthor Kylie Scott has solidified herself as one of my all time favourite authors.

LICK gets a super sexy, well deserved 5+ stars ~<;]

Book Review and GIVEAWAY: Skin by Kylie Scott

Title: SKIN
Author: Kylie Scott
Release Date: February 1st 2013
Publisher: Momentum
Source: Received from the author for an honest review.

Six months since the zombie plague struck, former librarian Roslyn Stewart has been holed up in a school with eight other survivors. But now the shelves in the school canteen are bare. The stranger at the gate has supplies that will ensure the group’s ongoing survival, but at a cost. He wants a woman.

Nick is a man with a plan. He’ll treat Roslyn like a Queen, devoting the rest of his life to protecting and providing for her. In exchange, of course, for sexual favours. It’s the deal of the century given the state of the world. But Roslyn doesn’t see it that way. The first chance she gets she attacks the ex-army man and attempts to escape, forcing Nick to contain her. And so begins his awkward courtship of the woman, with her chained to the bed for security reasons.

Chained like a dog and forced to spend her every waking moment with a creep, albeit a good looking one, Ros is determined to escape. When circumstances force them to band together against a common enemy their very survival depends on their ability to learn to trust each other. An uneasy partnership develops, but can a relationship with such a difficult beginning ever have a future?

The hotly anticipated sequel to Flesh, Skin is set in the same universe with a different set of characters.

My Thoughts

I read FLESH, book one in this Australian Zombie series back in November (my review here), and I couldn't wait to get my hands on book #2. Although I have to admit, I wasn't sure if Kylie Scott could pull off a follow up with all the intensity and heat that I loved in FLESH, but SKIN far surpassed all my expectations and then some, it was incredible.

The very first page had me grinning from ear to ear - cheeky thoughts and witty conversation, yes, this was going to be a fun read; and the intensely charged situation in which Ros finds herself went from 0 - 100 in a second and pretty much stayed there for the entire book. The world as Ros knows it has gone to hell and nothing is sacred anymore, especially when starvation is just as likely to kill you as the zombies are!

Roslyn is sarcastic, witty, maybe a little full of herself but amazingly real and lovable. And Nick gave off this all brawn no brain persona, along with an arrogant air of superiority that I knew had to be hiding a pussycat somewhere in there. Yeah sure, he's angry and a little self absorbed with getting laid but his intentions are good, in his own way!

I also loved catching up with familiar faces, it was great to get a glimpse into how their lives have progressed in the months since meeting them in FLESH (and I love Sean, please be okay!)

I was too caught up in this addictive story to stop and write notes but the few I did, read like this...

*OMFG, funny as!!

*CRAZYTOWN - get the hell outta there!!

*SEXY AS ALL HELL - Oh Yeah Baby!!

*Ros and Nick are AMAZING!!

Not only has Kylie tackled some pretty sensitive subject matter, but she has done it with dignity, class and a shitload of realism. Her characters are witty, opinionated, fierce and sexy! And what starts off as a hate/lust relationship turns into something much more than just a romance.

I loved SKIN - every glorious, bloody, crazy, sexy, scary, funny, sexy second of it!! (yes I purposely said sexy twice - lol!)

Going on my keeper shelf asap, SKIN is the best read of the year so far and gets 5+ stars from me  ~<;]
