First Monday Of The Month Giveaway: July

Well obviously I'm a little late with the details this month, but its been a busy few weeks!

We moved house and boy was it a hard task to move all of 504 meters up the road!!!
Thats right, we are now 1 farm further up the road.

I think moving such a short distance is worse in some respects because we still had to pack everything up and load it on the truck.
The poor truck driver then drove the huge distance of 900 meters (the driveway was 400m long!) to our new place to unload everything!!!

But with lots of help from family and friends we were pretty much done by lunchtime.
The unpacking is still a little haphazard but we'll get there.

Anyway........on with the comp!

As I'm still a little all over the place I'm doing it the hassle free way!

For your chance to win ONE book of your choice to the value of US$12 from The Book Depository  tell me..............
'what is your favorite book to movie adaptation and why?'

For me the answer is The Lord Of The Rings trilogy because no matter how many times I've tried to read the books.....I just cant get into them!

So leave a comment with your answer and your email address so I can contact you if you win.
Comp will close on the 25th July and winner will be chosen at random.
You must live in a country that TBD delivers to. Good luck xox

  1. I would love to see The House of Night Series by P.C. Cast be put to movie... Im really curious as to how theyll work the tattoos and the half raven half human creatures to life. If ever they do, I hope they don't do it with CGI =P and I would LOVE to see how Stark would look in live action **swoon** lol

    Thanks for hosting this giveaway!!

  2. I just have two words - HARRY POTTER!!! Yup. this is my fave book to movie adaptation. I remember the first book came out when i was but I wasn't interested in reading it. My love for HP only started after my friends dragged me to the theatre to watch the third movie. There's been no looking back since then. I'm soooooo excited to see the final movie.

    Thanks for the giveaway.

  8. Going to have to say Harry Potter #1,2 and 4. The visual effects blew me away, I thought the Chamber of Secrets in the movie was brilliant!!! But I Am Number Four was pretty good too, I just read the book this week and it was hard picking between the movie or the book!!! ;)

  23. I hope its ok if I say a few as I can't really pick one. I would say I love both "Mystic River" and "Shutter Island" by Dennis Lehane and their movie adaptations, as well as Stephen King's novella "Shawshank Redemption" from his "Different Seasons" collection. Also, in a completely different vein Steve Martin's "Shopgirl."

  27. My favorite book to movie choice would have to be Beastly. Since I was a little girl my favorite fairy tale has always been Beauty and the Beast. When I heard about the book Beastly, I just had to read it. I instantly fell in love with it! Then the movie was released and I was yet again fascinated with the fairy tale. 29. Hi, So, I really had to think about this, first thing that came to my mind was Dracula, because that is a classic and so many movies made from it! Then I thought wait there are more out there that I have loved. So I had to look and I found this great website called Based on the Book, which is part of a larger website. http://www.mymcpl.org/books-movies-music/based-book
There I was reminded of a recent one, "I Am Number Four" how could I forget that, especially when I have the second book on preorder! So that is the one I would go with right now, I will change my mind many times as I go through this list and buy more book and rent more movies! Thanks for that!
Lots of love to all readers, Jenn
